About this experience
Climb into your private 4WD safari jeep in Dambulla and head to Minneriya National Park for a three-hour game drive through one of Sri Lanka's most celebrated wildlife reserves. Your English-speaking driver and tracker scan the scrub and shoreline as you navigate the park's varied habitats — open grasslands, dense forest, and the banks of the ancient Minneriya Tank. The park is home to 24 mammal species, 160 bird species, 25 reptile species, and 75 varieties of butterfly, making every turn a new sighting.
Minneriya is best known for hosting one of the world's largest gatherings of Asian Elephants, as herds congregate around the reservoir during the dry season. Your tracker helps you read the landscape and identify wildlife you might otherwise miss. Hotel pick-up and drop-off are included, along with all taxes and service charges.
