About this experience
Climb into a private safari jeep and spend three hours exploring Lahugala Kitulana National Park — one of Sri Lanka's smallest yet most rewarding wildlife reserves, located 318 kilometres east of Colombo. Three reservoirs — Lahugala, Kitulana, and Sengamuwa — draw large gatherings of Sri Lankan elephants to the water's edge, particularly during the dry season. Your experienced driver doubles as your tracker, guiding you through varied habitat types while pointing out endemic bird species and other wildlife along the route.
Your booking includes the private jeep and free pickup and drop-off from any location within five kilometres of the park gate. Note that entrance fees are paid separately in cash on the day, and hotel transfers beyond the five-kilometre radius carry an additional charge. Food, drinks, and gratuities are not included. Lakpura arranges this as a fully private safari, so the jeep is yours alone for the full three hours.
