Bentota Beach Hotel holds a special place in the story of Sri Lankan tourism as one of the very first beach resort hotels in the country. Setting and Location

The hotel is located at Bentota, a prime beach holiday destination 65 km south of Colombo. It can be reached via the Colombo–Galle main road as well as by the southern railway line that runs from Colombo to Matara along the southern coast of Sri Lanka.

The Beach and Gardens

Expansive golden sandy beaches offer ample space for sunbathing, safe play for children, and leisurely evening strolls capped by a stunning sunset. The hotel's well-maintained gardens extend the experience inland, with shaded grassy lawns beneath palm trees that invite guests to relax or enjoy outdoor games. A dedicated river boat is also available for hosting gatherings while floating on the Bentota lagoon and river.

The hotel houses 133 rooms in total, each offering spectacular scenery. The higher the floor, the more panoramic the views of beach, lagoon, river, and surrounding landscape. Rooms are arranged across five categories: 105 Standard, 12 Superior Standard, 12 Deluxe, 1 Superior Deluxe, and 3 Suites.

Standard Rooms

Standard rooms come with air conditioning, cable TV, a mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities, a telephone with IDD, a safety deposit box, complimentary toiletries, a private balcony, and a hair dryer.

Superior and Deluxe Rooms

These categories add bottled drinking water and piped music to the standard amenities list, while retaining the private balcony and full complement of in-room comforts.

Suites

The suites feature a separate bedroom and living area, a bar counter, two balconies, a DVD player, bathrobes and bedroom slippers, and piped music, along with all the amenities found in the other room categories.
