A colouring book for children, drawn from Sybil Wettasinghe's story Kiriyata Lewariya. It belongs to a series in which her story books have been reworked into colouring books, pairing the illustrations and the story with space for a child to put down the pictures that form in the mind while a story is read aloud.
The text is in Sinhala throughout, so a reader at home with the language — or an adult able to read it aloud — will get the most from it. The colouring itself needs no language at all.
Sybil Wettasinghe wrote and illustrated for children in Sinhala, and her picture books are familiar to generations of Sri Lankan readers. The publisher, M. D. Gunasena & Co., is an established Colombo house publishing in Sinhala and English.
Likely to suit Sri Lankan families abroad who want their children reading and drawing in Sinhala, and anyone collecting Wettasinghe's work.
