About this experience
On the night of 23 August 2026, the 1st Randoli Perahera signals the start of the grandest phase of Kandy's Esala Perahera — the sacred festival centred on the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Watch richly caparisoned elephants lead the procession through the city streets, accompanied by Kandyan dancers, drummers, fire performers, and the ceremonial casket of the Sacred Tooth Relic. This night marks a clear step up in scale from the earlier Kumbal Perahera nights, with larger crowds and greater spectacle.
Your Lakpura booking includes the entry fee and a private seat, so you're settled and positioned before the procession begins. The event runs for approximately 2 hours. Note that a personal guide, food, and drinks are not included, so plan accordingly. Minimum age for participation is 12 years. This is a public group event held outdoors in central Kandy.
