About this experience
Lace up your boots and head out from Ella on an 8-hour private trek deep into the jungle to the rural village of Illukpelessa. Your experienced guide leads you through dense tropical forest, past the crumbling ruins of ancient temples and across wide open paddy fields. The trail crosses a gushing river — wade straight through and feel the current around your ankles. Snacks and refreshments are included, and you can opt for a traditional village lunch to sit down with locals over a spread of home-cooked Sri Lankan rice and curry.
The route opens into Illukpelessa village, where you explore at a relaxed pace and meet the people who call this quiet corner of the hill country home. Before the return trek, cool off with a dip in a natural jungle pool. This is a private tour, so the pace is yours. Open to participants aged 7 and above; all government taxes and service charges are covered by Lakpura.
