Genera English is a subject that every student who sits the Advanced Level Examination is supposed to face. The following is a brief explanation about the layout of the examination paper and how marks are awarded.

General English Paper - 1 (Time: One Hour)

Part A - Grammar and Vocabulary - 35 marks

Part B - Reading and Writing - 25 marks

Total Marks - 60

When answering paper, I,you get one hour: Paert A - Grammar and Vocabulary consisits of 05 sub parts, while Paert B - Reading and Writing consists of 03 sub parts

General English Paper - II (Time: Three Hours)

In addition, 10 minutes for reading

Part A - Reading Skills - 50 marks

Part B - Dialogues - 25 marks

Part C - Writing Skills - 65 marks

Total Marks - 140

For paper II you get three hours. Part A - Reading Skills consists of 05 sub parts while Part B - Dialogues consists of sub parts while Part C - Writing Skills consists of 05 sub parts.
