Aeolus Bastion is a fort and is located in Southern, Sri Lanka.Named for the Dutch word for sea breeze when the Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie or Dutch East India Company expanded and rebuilt the older Portuguese fort in the 17th Century, the Aeolus Bastion is still used for military purposes today. While this bastion is closed to the public, the much larger Star Bastion, two hundred metres to the north, is a perfect spot to watch the sunset.
