Set amidst 26 acres of lush gardens, the Umaid Bhawan Palace is one of India's last great palaces and one of the largest private residences in the world. Located just 5 km from the airport and railway station, this golden yellow sandstone monument was commissioned by Maharaja Umaid Singh Ji, grandfather of the current Maharaja of Jodhpur, Gaj Singh Ji, and completed in 1943.
