Located in the cool hill country near Nuwara Eliya, this is one of Sri Lanka’s most beautiful and historic botanical gardens.

Established in 1861, originally for cultivating cinchona (used for quinine)
Spread across about 28 hectares, making it the second-largest botanical garden in Sri Lanka
Situated at around 5,400–5,500 feet above sea level, giving it a cool, temperate climate
