Step into an air-conditioned vehicle and spend ten hours exploring two of Sri Lanka's most rewarding destinations on this private day tour from Polonnaruwa. Your dedicated English-speaking chauffeur guide leads you through the ancient royal capital, where you walk among the carved granite Buddhas of Gal Vihara, the circular relic shrine of the Polonnaruwa Vatadage, the seven-storey Sathmahal Prasada, the Lankathilaka Image House, and the Medirigiriya Vatadage. A local area guide for the Ancient Kingdom sites is available separately and is not included in this booking.
In the afternoon, swap the ruins for the wild as your group boards a safari jeep and heads into Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park. Watch herds of wild elephants converge at the reservoir — numbers can reach into the hundreds during the dry season.
