Colombo museum
Colombo National Museum at Colombo, Sri Lanka is a museum of international standing. It was established on 1st January 1877 by then British Governor of Ceylon (Sri Lanka), Sir William Henry Gregory. While the gallery on the ground floor is arranged in historical sequence, the upper galleries are arranged in thematic basis. Colombo National Museum has opened 9 branches including those at Kandy and Ratnapura too.
