Perched on the banks of the Yodakandiya reservoir, about 10 minutes away from Tissamaharama town is the Wapi Bungalow. With natural settings and overlooking the lake, the bungalow offers accommodation for about 12 persons with 3 guestrooms in the ground floor and a sleeping deck on the upper floor. Facilities include air-conditioning, modern bathrooms, open air showers, and even a cook and caretaker to take care of your day to day requirements. With a number of National Parks around the vicinity of the property, you can sit back and relax beautiful views or head towards the lake and enjoy a boat ride.
Wapi Location

Wapi Bungalow is located on the banks of the Yodakandiya reservoir in the village of Yodakandiya which is approximately 3km from the Tissamaharama Town. The town can be reached by the Colombo - Galle - Hambantota main motor way while its 264 km away from Colombo. From the Tissamaharama town you turn to the Kirinda road and travel 3km to reach the Yodakandiya junction. From here you take the Situlpawa road proceeding for about 100 meters passing the Devanada Maha Viharaya. Then take the first turn to the left and travel 200 meters till you reach Wapi Bungalow.
Wapi Accommodation

For travellers who love being in natural surroundings, the Wapi Bungalow offers an excellent setting for relaxation. There are three guestrooms which are air-conditioned that can sleep six guests. The upstairs deck also sleeps another six persons. The three toilets are set in modern designs and consist of hot and cold water. Linen is provided for day to day use. The property also offers open air showers to experience nature unfold.
Wapi Facilities

Facilities at Wapi Bungalow include a large sitting area that faces the beautiful lake. The large garden which has indigenous trees also ends up at the lake. Guests shouldn't worry about food since there is an in house cook to cater to your needs. You can ask the cook to prepare your favourites to suit the occasion. There is also a caretaker and drivers quarters. A number of activities can be experienced in and around the bungalow. You can stretch out and relax and watch the birds and butterflies in the garden. You can also enjoy walks along the bund of the tank or even take a plunge in the lake.
Wapi Excursions

There are a number of excursions that guests can enjoy within 30 minutes from Wapi Bungalow. Places of interest include the Yala National Park, the Bundala National Park, boat rides in the Tissa Lake, make a visit to the Kataragama shrine which is locally famous for many devotees around the year, the Kirinda Beach and Temple, and Four Stupas at Tissamaharama itself.

More attractions further away from the bungalow include the Situlpawa Temple, the Lunugamvehera National Park, the Uda Walawe National Park and the Maha Ravana Lighthouse. En-route to Tissamaharama via the coastal main road, you can witness a number of beautiful beaches and also enjoy a number of water sports.
