About this experience
Board your private vehicle in Negombo and head south along Sri Lanka's coastline over two days. Your English-speaking chauffeur guide takes you through Hadungoda's low-country tea estate — one of the few of its kind in Sri Lanka — before reaching colonial Galle Fort, a UNESCO-listed landmark built by the Dutch. Further along the coast, the morning waters off Mirissa Bay bring you face to face with blue whales, while Koggala's iconic stilt fishermen balance above the shallows in a tradition stretching back generations.
Day two adds a boat safari down the Madu River, weaving through mangrove islands and spotting river wildlife, followed by a visit to the turtle hatchery at Balapitiya, where conservation efforts protect nesting sea turtles. Private transport, fuel, highway tolls, and two 500 ml water bottles per person per day are included. Hotel accommodation, meals, and site entrance fees are arranged separately. No minimum age applies, making this a flexible itinerary for a wide range of travellers.
