About this experience
Leave Kandy and travel north into Sri Lanka's ancient heartland on this private 2-day tour. Your English-speaking chauffeur guide drives you to the Dambulla Golden Cave Temple, where over a hundred Buddha figurines fill five rock-carved shrines, then on to Anuradhapura — the island's first capital — where dagobas, sacred Bo trees and stone palaces span more than two millennia of history. All transport, fuel, parking, and highway tolls are covered; entrance fees are paid separately on arrival.
On the second day, head into Wilpattu National Park — Sri Lanka's largest — where leopards, elephants, and sloth bears roam a landscape of villus (natural lakes) and dry forest. Your chauffeur guide accompanies you throughout. The tour is fully private, with a minimum age of five, and operates in English. Hotel accommodation and personal expenses are arranged independently.
