Bekkjarvik Gjestgiveri and the surrounding areas are brim with adventures ready to be explored. While visiting Bekkjarvik your book of memories will fill up fast. Bekkjarvik Gjestgiveri is located on one of the beautiful islands in Austevoll municipality, south of Bergen, with the sea and its long history as a backdrop. The sighting of an inn here was established in accordance with a royal decree of the 16th century, when the Danish King Christian IV decided that there should be built a guesthouse to each half- or full day’s journey at sea. Bekkjarvik Gjestgiveri was built at the end of the 17th century and has been taking in guests for more than 300 years. Today, people visit us because of the peace and quiet, along with our beautiful nature. Also, one of our big attractions is the hosts’ son Ørjan Johannessen, who was awarded first place in Bocuse d’Or 2015.
