About this experience
Board your air-conditioned vehicle from Wadduwa, Kalutara, or Panadura for a 13-hour private tour to two of Sri Lanka's most significant UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Your English-speaking chauffeur guide leads you first to the Dambulla Cave Temple, where five rock-carved sanctuaries hold centuries of murals and over 150 Buddha statues cut into the hillside. Bottled mineral water is provided throughout the day.
In the afternoon, you reach Sigiriya Rock Fortress — a 5th-century citadel rising 200 metres above the surrounding plain. Climb past the famous mirror wall and lion's paw gateway to the summit plateau, where the ruins of a royal palace and sweeping views across the jungle reward the ascent. Entrance fees are not included, so carry local currency. Your driver returns you to your hotel by evening.
