The area is also famous for being a nesting site for the endangered loggerhead sea turtles (Caretta caretta), which adds an eco-tourism element to the region. From there, you can also rent a boat and visit the Turtle Island and Mizithres beach. Nearby you can find a variety of restaurants, bars, taverns, shops and mini markets.
