Sigirya, Sri Lanka
Sigiriya Lion Rock Citadel, Sri Lanka is one of the eight UNESCO World heritage sites in Sri Lanka. Sigiriya is another testimony to grand urban planing of 5th century Sri Lanka. The ruins and preserved ruins of the city is centered around a outcrop of gneiss rock towering 200 meters above the surrounding plains. On the summit of the rock are ruins of a palace and 2 bathing pools.
