Balapitiya, Sri Lanka
Balapitiya, a fishing village located 8km south of Kosgoda beach and 5km north of Ambalangoda beach is the favored starting point for boat safaris along the River Madu Ganga. River Madu Ganga with no lees than 64 islands is teeming with birdlife. One of the small islands is home to Buddhist temple adorned with sculptures and paintings.
