About this experience
Your driver meets you at your Negombo hotel at 6:30 AM and whisks you north in an air-conditioned vehicle for a full day across Sri Lanka's cultural heartland. First stop is the Millennium Elephant Foundation, where you can feed and interact with baby elephants and watch the herd bathe — entrance fees are covered. By 11:30 AM you're walking the shaded paths of the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, home to Asia's largest orchid collection. A complimentary bottle of water keeps you refreshed along the way.
After a lunch break in Kandy Town at a restaurant of your choice (meal costs not included), spend the afternoon browsing workshops dedicated to gem crafting and woodcarving. At 5:00 PM, step inside the Temple of the Tooth Relic and take in its elaborately decorated interior. Your driver then returns you to Negombo by 6:30 PM, with a dinner stop en route if you wish. This private 10-hour tour is organised by Lakpura and is suitable for travellers aged 5 and above.
