▶️From Victoria Park to Viharamahadevi Park

Originally established during the British colonial period as Victoria Park, the park was renamed after Sri Lanka gained independence in honor of Queen Viharamahadevi, the mother of King Dutugemunu. Today, a magnificent Buddha statue welcomes visitors at the main entrance, replacing the former statue of Queen Victoria and symbolizing Sri Lanka’s rich cultural heritage.
