Location of Yala Villa, Kirinda
Located a mere 15 minute drive away from the entrance to the Yala National Park, the Yala Villa is located within the South-Eastern part of Sri Lanka. Yala which is about 260 km away from Colombo can be accessed via the Southern coastal road or even the hill country while the drive is always a memorable one. The drive from Yala Villa to Kataragama is about 45 minutes while the Bundala National Park is only 30 minutes away.
Accommodation at Yala Villa, Kirinda
The Yala Villa consists of one air-conditioned en-suite bedroom which comprises of a double bed along with mosquito netting so that guests can enjoy a peaceful night. This bedroom is ideal for guests looking for privacy. The villa also comprises of a more common dormitory style open sided verandah that consists of single beds with mosquito netting. The facilities are very basic while it can sleep 8 or more guests. Over head sleeping fans are available to keep you cool while a bathroom with two w/c, twin vanities and separate hot water showers are available to share. Sheets and towels are provided.

The living and dining area of the Yala Villa which is located in one verandah overlooks the swimming pool which boasts of Jacuzzi Jets. The living room comprises of a number of conveniences including a Plasma TV with cable connection, a DVD player with a selection of movies and a number of board games. The villa houses a dining table that can accommodate 10 guests while traditional Sri Lankan cuisine, BBQ's and a variety of snacks are offered. Your meal preferences can be discussed at the time of your booking if there are any special requests. A villa keeper and the cook is always present onsite. For a more magical experience, oil lamps are lit around the pool during fine weather in the night time.
Excursions and Day Tours from Yala Villa, Kirinda
The Yala Villa's proximity to the Yala National Park enables guests to enjoy a jeep safari which can be arranged in the mornings and afternoons. The excursion usually takes about 3 hours with a wildlife tracker. Yala which boasts of rocky terrain, lagoons and scrub plains is known for having one of the world’s densest leopard populations. The park is also home to the sloth bear, sambar, herds of elephants, crocodiles, monkeys, spotted deer and wild boar and species of local and migratory birds. Other interesting places that you can explore include the ancient city of Tissamaharama, the shrine of Kataragama and its surroundings as well as the ancient temple of Kirinda. A trip to the Bundala Bird Sanctuary can also be organized.
