Day 01 - Airport, Negombo, Anuradhapura


Accommodation : Not Applicable

Arrival, welcome & assistance at the airport. Leave to Anuradhapura. En-route visit the fishing village in Negombo which is the center of the island’s fishing community. It is largely Roman Catholic by faith, with huge imposing churches down almost every street. The sea & the catamarans are the backdrop to the Negombo scenery. P.M. leave for Anuradhapura & visit the ruins of the first capital founded in the 05th century BC here is found the largest number of ancient monuments of a great civilization. Buddhism found its first real home in Sri Lanka at Anuradhapura, and it thus contains some of Sri Lankan Buddhism’s most secret sights. The “Srimahabdhi tree in Anuradhapura, planted from a cutting from the original “bo” under which the Buddha received enlightenment, continue to draw thousands of Buddhist pilgrims from around the world. The pillars of the brazen palace which once had nine stories, the image of the samadi Buddha, one of the finest places of Buddhists sculpture, the twin ponds, guard stones & moonstones. Overnight at the hotel in Anuradhapura. There are monuments such as Ruwanveliseya dageba, 2nd century BC with its famous Elephant wall; Thuparama dageba 3rd century B.C. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.


Day 02 - Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa, Sigiriya

After breakfast leave for Polonnaruwa. 135 miles (216 km) from Colombo and south east of Anuradhapura is the island’s medieval capital. When early in the 11th centaury AD Anuradhapura suffered one of the worst of its many Indian invasions, Polonnaruwa became the next seat of rule. Today’s ruins, however, belong almost exclusively to the reigns of two kings. The city in its day was fortified with three concentric walls, beautified with parks and gardens and sanctified by many a shrine and sacred place. The city it self as well as the surrounding plain was watered by a unique irrigational complex known as the sea of Parakrama (Parakrama Samudra) so vast was it’s scale. Lunch en-route, and after proceed to visit the lion Rock of Sri Lanka, which is known as the eight wonder of the world. This rock fortress was built by king Kasyapa in the 5th century A.D. and was a royal citadel for more than 18 years. In a sheltered pocket, approached by a spiral stairway, are the famous frescoes. The summit of the rock, with an area of nearly one hectare was the site of the palace, the outer wall of which was built on the very brink of the precipice. The UNESCO - sponsored Central Cultural Fund has restored Sigiriya 5th century Water Gardens to their former glory. Return to the hotel for dinner & overnight


Day 03 - Sigiriya, Dambulla, Matale, Kandy

After breakfast leave for Kandy. En-route visit the rock cave temple of Dambulla. Twelve miles from Sigiriya is Dambulla, a vast isolated rock mass 500 ft. high and a mile round the base. Here is found the famous rock temples dating to the first centaury B.C.The caves of Dambulla sheltered the King during his 14 years of exile from Anuradhapura.When he regained the throne, he caused to be built the most magnificent of rock-temples of this island. There is also a colossal figure of the recumbent Buddha 14 meters long carved out of rock. Visit a spice garden & batik factory in Matale. En-route to Kandy. P.M. arrive at hotel in Kandy, the center of the traditional arts in Sri Lanka .visit the temple of the sacred tooth relic of Buddha. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight


Day 04 - Kandy, Pinnawela, Kandy

After breakfast leave for Pinnawela & visit the elephant Orphanage. Pinnawala which is about one hour a way from the Kandy town it self. Pinnawala is one of the large elephant orphanages where they rare elephants that are been deserted from their own herd. Most of them are baby elephants. There are mainly two special events taking place, which is “the elephants feeding time and their bathing time’. The feeding time happens at 0915hrs /1315hrs/and 1515 hrs. P.M. visit the city of Kandy. The most famous landmark of kandy is its lake, in the center of the city. The Kandy market is a great bazaar full of the sounds of exiting trade. Late in the evening view the Kandyan cultural performance return to hotel for dinner and overnight.


Day 05 - Kandy, Peradeniya, Nuwareliya


Accommodation : Yala Village Villa Secret Garden

After breakfast visit the royal botanical gardens of Peradeniya. Famous for its magnificent Botanical Gardens, which has extensively well kept Lawns, Pavilions, an ORCHID House with an outstanding collection, an Octagon Conservatory, Fernery, banks of bamboo and numerous flower borders with cannas, hibiscus, croton and colourful bougainvillea. This garden is best known for it’s collection of orchids the largest in Asia. P.M. leave for Nuwareliya the center of hill country, En-route visit a tea plantation and witness the manufacture of the world famous "Ceylon tea". Spend the evening walking in the cool climate. Arrive at hotel for dinner and overnight


Day 06 - Nuwareliya, Ella, Kataragama, Yala


Accommodation : Not Applicable

After breakfast leave for Hambantota. Stop at Elle to admire the magnificent view. & the sacred city of Kataragama. P.M safari in Yala park by jeep. The Elephant is undoubtedly the best known attraction at Yala, seen in small & large herds. Herds of spotted deer are seen all over the park. Monkeys-the pinkish rhesus and the Grey-faced Langur Monkey, live and play on the tree-tops and the ground below. Wild buffalo & wild boar could give you a good surprise & the sight of a leopard sunning itself or drinking water at a water hole could be memorable experience .the peacock is easily the most famous of the birds at Yala. The painted stork, many varieties of heron, the spoonbill, the bee-eater, parakeets, king-fisher & wood pecker are some of the birds can be seen in the park. Arrive at hotel for dinner and overnight


Day 07 - Hambantota, Galle, Colombo


Accommodation : Not Applicable

After breakfast leave for Galle. Visit the old Portuguese fort, later rebuilt and extended by the Dutch is still fine preservation. Most of the administration of Galle still takes place from the fort .the view from the ramparts is superb. Continuation towards Colombo. P.M visit the fascinating city of Colombo which links the past with the present. You will visit the fort area, the commercial center, ’’Pettah’’ Colombo’s bustling bazaar area, cinnamon gardens which is full of large residences, Buddhist temples, Hindu temples & mosques. Visit the Buddhist temple in Kelaniya. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight
